eLearning BENCHMARKING Study 2018 - Partial study: Corporate Language Training & eLearning

Communication is an essential component of the modern working world and its importance is even further enhanced by current trends such as increasing globalization and the simultaneous progress of digitalization. In order to be able to communicate securely and self-confidently, appropriate language skills must be available, which often makes it necessary for employers to take targeted measures. The results of two years ago were to be reviewed in a new sub-study and further deepened with follow-up questions. On the following pages you will find a detailed analysis of the use of language training in German-speaking countries and the role eLearning plays in this context.

Chapter 1: nice-to-have or must-have?
Communication is one of the central elements of the modern working world. Globalization makes it increasingly important to be able to communicate securely with both customers and colleagues from other countries. At the same time, thanks to digitalization and, above all, the Internet, there are increasingly powerful tools that enable and support global communication. Against this background, how important is language and language training for companies? The following chapter focuses on this question.

Chapter 2: eLearning for language training
The need for language training has therefore increased over the past two years. But how do companies actually train languages? In the 2016 eLearning BENCHMARKING study, in-house training with external and internal trainers clearly dominated the company‘s language training. But what significance does eLearning actually have for language training? The following chapter focuses on the advantages and disadvantages of eLearning for language training.
