Dublin (Ireland) | According to market analysts Research and Markets, the global online language learning market is expected to grow by an average of 18% per year from 2020 to 2024, which would represent total growth of 18.61 billion US Dollars over the forecast period. This is the result of the recently published market study „Global Online Language Learning Market 2020-2024“.
According to Research and Markets, the main reasons for this growth are better cost efficiency and greater flexibility in terms of time and location than is the case with face-to-face teaching. In addition, however, the fact that in the future, artificial intelligence is likely to be used in digitally mediated language learning, which should further strengthen market growth.
In corporate learning, Research and Market believes that increased outsourcing activities in countries such as India, the Philippines, Indonesia, China and Thailand are likely to be the main drivers of further market growth in digital language learning.
If one compares the market study by Research and Markets with others, it becomes clear that game-based language learning is probably one of several trends. According to the Canadian analyst Technavio, it will grow by as much as 25 % per annum in the forecast period 2019 to 2023, and thus faster than digital language learning solutions in general. Nevertheless, games are a relatively small market segment in language e-learning. Technavio estimates the presumed market value of game-based language learning solutions in 2023 at only 2.28 billion US Dollars.
