Game-based language learning is the trend

Toronto (Canada) | Digital learning games for languages are becoming increasingly popular with consumers. This is the assumption of Canadian market researcher Technavio in its recently published analysis “Language Learning Games Market by End-users and Geography – Global Forecast and Analysis 2019-2023”, assuming an annual growth rate of around 25% over the forecast period. For 2019, Technavio estimates growth at 21.89%. An important reason for the growth in language learning games is the trend towards the increased use of 3D games for language acquisition. However, game-based language learning solutions that teach several languages at the same time are also likely to grow more strongly than others, as these are in particularly high demand by consumers, according to Technavio. All in all, the market segment analysed is likely to grow to 2.28 billion US dollars by the end of 2023.

According to Technavio, the global consumer-oriented market is very strongly influenced by North America – the market researcher expects that 30% of market growth in the forecast period alone will take place in this region of the world. A closer look at the market segments shows that students generate the highest revenues.
