This is the assumption of the Indian market researcher MarketsandMarkets in his analysis “LMS Market – Global Forecast to 2023”, published at the beginning of the year, and according to his own data he forecasts an average global growth of 19.6 % per year. On the basis of the 2018 data evaluated by MarketsandMarkets, the global LMS market so far has a market value of 9.2 billion US dollars. The analyst assumes that the use of LMS in in-company training will grow even faster in the future than in academic training. MarketsandMarkets also expects cloud-based LMS to be the largest market segment in the forecast period.
Growth will be boosted, in the report of MarketsandMarkets, by an increasingly better acceptance of digital forms of learning, the BYOD principle, which is increasingly moving into both academic and professional areas, the more intensive use of AI applications, and higher government investment in a modern education system. Regionally, North America is likely to continue to account for the largest share of the global LMS market – the trend towards mobile learning will be particularly noticeable here in the coming years.
